Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by towering peaks, Telluride is one of Colorado’s most magical destinations. Whether you’re visiting in summer for hiking and festivals, or chasing fall colors through golden aspen groves, Telluride offers an unmatched blend of rugged beauty, small-town charm, and elevated adventure.

At Neo-Adventures, we’re all about helping you experience Colorado like a local. If you’re renting one of our adventure-ready vehicles, Telluride is the kind of place that’s worth the drive. And if you're wondering where to start once you get there — we’ve got a few trail recommendations that capture the spirit of this high-alpine wonderland.
1. See Forever Trail – Aptly Named for a Reason
If you only do one hike in Telluride, make it See Forever. Starting from the top of the gondola at Station San Sophia, this trail takes you up above tree line, where alpine meadows stretch toward the sky and views extend across multiple mountain ranges. You’ll feel like you’re walking on top of the world.
Distance: ~5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Moderate
Highlights: Panoramic views, wildflowers, photo-worthy ridgelines
Pro tip: take the free gondola from town to save energy and enjoy even more epic views on the way up.

2. Jud Wiebe Trail – Classic Telluride with Big Reward
Right from town, the Jud Wiebe Trail is a local classic that delivers incredible bang for your buck. This loop packs in aspen forests, waterfalls, and wide-open views of the valley — all in under three miles. It’s especially stunning in the fall when the aspens turn electric gold.
Distance: ~3-mile loop
Difficulty: Moderate
Highlights: Fall colors, mountain overlooks, close-to-town convenience
Start at the north end of Aspen Street and be ready for a steady uphill — the views are worth every step.

Pro Tips from Neo-Adventures
Start early – Afternoon storms roll in fast in the San Juans. Hike before noon when possible.
Stay hydrated – You’re hiking above 10,000 ft. Water and electrolytes is your best friend.
Wear Sunscreen and Chapstick: worth repeating… you are above 10,000ft – 2 miles closer to the sun with thinner air – you will burn. We recommend SPF 30 – reapply every 2 hours.
Dress in layers – It might be warm in town and chilly on the ridge.
Ride the gondola – It’s free, scenic, and saves your legs for the good stuff…..beer!
